CMA CGM Hikes North Europe-Far East Rates

CMA CGM said it will increase freight rates for all cargoes from North Europe to the Far East on April 1.

Rates will rise by $150 for a 20-foot equivalent unit and by $300 for a 40-foot box, the French ocean carrier said.

The increases apply to all types of containers.

CMA CGM also said it will quote the Port of Origin Terminal Handling Charges [OTHC] separately from North Europe to the Far East sea freight for all cargoes, including waste commodities, from April 1.

Two days ago, the carrier said it would raise rates for containers shipped from the U.S. East, West and Gulf coasts to Asia, the Middle East and the Indian sub-continent on March 15.
