Cheng Lie Navigation, the Taiwanese carrier that is majority-owned by CMA CGM, is launching three new services and upgrading a service linking China to Southeast Asia to meet growing demand on the intra-Asia trades.
CNC will start the NCX service between North China and Vietnam on June 25 with three ships, each with a capacity of 1,700 20-foot equivalent container units. The NCX service will sail between North China and Vietnam with coverage of Pearl River Delta ports via Hong Kong.
The NCX service, which will offer over 200 reefer plugs per week, will call the following ports: Dalian, Xingang, Qingdao, Lianyungang, Hong Kong (HIT & MID), Shekou, Ho Chi Minh, Hong Kong (HIT & MID) and back to Dalian.
On June 26 CNC will start the CHT service linking Korea and China to Thailand with three 1,700 TEU ships on the following port rotation: Inchon, Qingdao, Shanghai, Hong Kong (HIT), Laem Chabang, Bangkok, Laem Chabang, Hong Kong (HIT), Xiamen and back to Inchon.
It will also launch the HBS service from North China to Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia on July 3 by taking space under a slot exchange on a joint service between Wan Hai Lines and Evergreen using four vessels of 2,700 TEU capacity each on the following port rotation: Dalian, Xingang, Qingdao, Shekou, Hong Kong (HIT), Jakarta, Port Kelang, Singapore, Tanjung Pelepas, Hong Kong, Shanghai and back to Dalian.
In conjunction with the launch of these new services, CNC is upgrading its China 1 service linking China to Souteast Asia. The upgraded service will deploy four vessels of 2,700 TEUs apiece, replacing the current 1,700-TEU vessels.
The port rotation will cover: Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Manila (ATI & ICT), Jakarta, Surabaya, Hong Kong (MID & HIT) and back to Qingdao.
Robert Sallons, general manager of CNC’s liner department, said the three new services and the upgrade of the China 1 loop would enable the carrier to cope with further growth in volume in the coming months and provide its customers with enhanced reefer service between North China and Southeast Asian ports.
