Express-1 Acquires Forwarder LRG

The Journal of Commerce Online - News Story

Logistics firm Express-1 Expedited Solutions acquired air and ocean freight forwarder LRG International and will run it as part of the company’s Concert Group Logistics unit.

“This acquisition is evidence that we are committed to advancing the size and capabilities of our CGL logistics network,” said Michael Welch, CEO of Saint Joseph, Mich.-based Express-1. He said Tampa, Fla.-based LRG offers “strong growth potential” for its new owner.

Gerry Post, president of CGL, said the acquisition “expands our foreign network and strengthens our ocean and air capabilities.” It particularly helps CGL to expand into Europe and Asia, plus other major regions, Express-1 said.
