DB Schenker won a three year contract to set up and execute a European distribution network for Systagenix Wound Management, formerly the Professional Wound Care Business of Ethicon, a Johnson & Johnson company.
Schenker will help Systagenix launch its own global distribution network as it establishes independence from transition services provided by Johnson & Johnson.
Schenker will support Systagenix in their European logistics, including final deliveries to customers, from the Gargrave facility in the UK as well as from regional distribution centers in Girona, Spain, and Prague, Czech Republic.
Schenker service will cover groupage and full load transportation, regional fulfillment centers and parcel deliveries across the whole of Europe as Systagenix delivers orders across Europe within 48 hours. Schenker will handle transportation between sites as the regional fulfillment centers are replenished from Gargrave on a weekly basis and under central inventory management.
"Our innovative and clinically proven products improve peoples lives and can help reduce health care costs," said Mark Kirkup, Systagenix vice president, operations. "Through this partnership, with DB Schenker, we will be able to ensure they get to health care professionals across Europe in a timely and cost effective way."
