Echo Global Logistics should have no problem recruiting during the recovery.
The Chicago-based third-party logistics provider added Matt Ferguson, president and CEO of CareerBuilder.com, to its board of directors last week.
"Echo's rapid growth and success is a testament to their evolved technology solutions,” said Ferguson, who became the ninth member of the board.
Echo is led by CEO Doug Waggoner, a former executive with Selectrans, Yellow, Daylight Transport and USF. Samuel K. Skinner, former USF chairman and CEO and U.S. transportation secretary under President George H.W. Bush, is chairman.
Echo Global Logistics expanded last year despite the recession, posting $70.2 million in revenue in the third quarter -- an increase of more than 20 percent -- while shipment volume increased 45.5 percent. Its net income in the third quarter last year was $1.3 million, compared with $600,000 in the same period in 2008.
The company went public in a $79 million initial public offering last October. Its stock is traded on the NASDAQ market.
