The Journal Of Commerce Announces Keynote Speaker For TPM Conference In March 2011

NEWARK, N.J., December 21st/PRNewswire/ -- C.C. Tung, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Orient Overseas (International) Ltd., the parent company of Orient Overseas Container Line, will deliver the opening keynote address at the 11th Annual Journal of Commerce Trans-Pacific Maritime (TPM) Conference in Long Beach, Calif. on March 7-8, 2011. TPM 2011 coincides with the 100th anniversary of the Port of Long Beach, the host sponsor for the event.

The TPM conference is the largest and most important North American event focused on international, end-to-end container shipping and logistics. Over 1,500 attendees including BCOs, container lines, third-party logistics, marine terminals, railroads, truckers, port authorities and others are expected over the course of the two-day event.

Mr. Tung is a business leader with a distinguished resume spanning the worlds of shipping, aviation, banking and energy. He was Chairman of the Hong Kong Shipowners Association in 1993 – 1995, Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce in 1999 – 2001; an Independent Non-Executive Director of Zhejiang Expressway Co. Ltd., PetroChina Co. Ltd.; Wing Hang Bank Ltd., Bank of China (Hong Kong) Ltd., Sing Tao News Corp. Ltd., Cathay Pacific Airways Limited; U-Ming Marine Transport Corporation; and a member of the Hong Kong Port Development Council and Hong Kong Logistics Development Council.
He graduated from the University of Liverpool, England, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He later acquired a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
