The U.S. surpassed Canada as the largest wood pellet exporter in the world in the first six months of 2012, pushed higher expansion of wood pellet capacity in the southern United States, the North American Wood Fiber Review reported.

Canadian pellet exports to Europe in the second quarter rose 14 percent from the first, while pellet exports from the U.S. South rose 13 percent.
