China's Vehicle Exports Top 1 Million Units

China’s vehicle exports hurdled the 1 million unit barrier for the first time in 2012 as sales abroad increased 29.7 percent, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

Last year saw some manufacturers divert their attention from the slowing domestic market, where total sales increased by just 4.3 percent year-over-year in 2012 to total 19.3 million units.

Total exports reached 1,056,100 units, with passenger cars accounting for 45 percent of exports and trucks some 28 percent.
