The Canadian Transportation Agency has appointed Sam Barone as vice chair for a five-year term, according to Denis Lebel, Canada’s Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities.
Barone has more than 31 years of transportation leadership experience in a variety of positions in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. Since 2008, he has been president and CEO of the Canadian Business Aviation Association, and from 2006 to 2008, he was president and CEO of the Air Transport Association of Canada.
Libel also announced that Lantz Siteman has been appointed to the Halifax Port Authority’s board of directors, Murray Walberg has been selected for the Thunder Bay Port Authority’s board and Robert Bruce Ellis Hallsor has been chosen for the board of the Prince Rupert Port Authority. The appointments are all for three-year terms.
Siteman was Canada Trust Company’s district vice president and regional manager for Atlantic Canada until he retired in 2001.
Walberg has been the northwestern Ontario regional vice president of RBC Royal Bank since 2005. He joined the company in 1989.
Hallsor is the managing partner at Crease Harman and runs a successful commercial practice with 30 partners and employees.
