The Savannah Ocean Exchange Global Review Panel recently selected the two winners of the 2012 Solutions Exchange awards, which rewards organizations promoting environmental stewardship and economic growth with $100,000 prizes.
The Gulfstream Navigator Award was given to Protei: Ocean Cleaning Sailing Robots, a seafaring surface vessel that carries research and environmental cleanup equipment using wind power, to aid in oil spill relief.
The WWL Orcelle Grant of 2012 was awarded to Nonox: Emulsion Combustion Systems, a complete emulsion fuel system that can be switched back and forth between emulsion and straight fuel, to reduce fuel costs and emissions.
