U.S. Shippers Association, offering container freight services, has rolled out a cloud supply chain platform provided by GT Nexus.
The technology centralizes and automates global logistics management for member companies, including the freight spend lifecycle, from the procurement of transportation services through rate management and shipment visibility.
“The combination of disconnected and standalone software and spreadsheets was cumbersome and inefficient,” said Beverly Altimore, executive director at USSA.
In particular, the technology pools the freight volume of members and negotiates preferred rates and services with logistics providers, so that members can access their contracts and run supply chains using the jointly negotiated rates.
