Trade Tech, which supplies cloud-based solutions for the logistics industry, announced that its electronic filing solution has been authorized by Nippon Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System, the Japanese government’s trade and customs clearance service, for Japan’s Advance Filing Rules that will go into effect in March 2014.
Since the rules require vessel operators and carriers to use NACCS to electronically file their maritime container cargo information at least 24 hours before the departure of the vessel from its loading port, the organization is authorizing third-party service providers capable of handling this task.
Trade Tech was selected by NACCS because of its cloud-based automated manifest system, Bryn Heimbeck, Trade Tech’s president, said in a written statement.
