India and Austria signed a memorandum of understanding to accelerate cooperation in the development of port infrastructure and maritime security technology.
The announcement came after talks between Austrian Federal Minister for Transport Doris Bures and Indian Shipping Minister G.K. Vasan.
Areas of potential cooperation include implementation of International Ship & Port Security code, use of radio frequency identification in logistics and transport planning and optical character recognition in terminals.
