Supply chain management company Descartes Systems Group today announced it is working with DHL Global Forwarding to upgrade the freight transportation company’s electronic communications to Cargo-XML, the air freight forwarding industry’s new communication standard.
Cargo-XML is designed to modernize how the air industry communicates by providing freight forwarders, airlines and trading partners with data capture capabilities, improved information accuracy, support of the International Air Transport Association “eFreight” initiative and better ability to keep pace with evolving customs and security requirements.
Descartes is part of the IATA Cargo-XML Task Force to help develop standards and ways to improve the air cargo industry.
