Hong Kong-based CargoSmart, a logistics software-as-a-service solutions provider, and Japan-based Nippon Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System (NACCS Center), which specializes in electronic processing for air and sea cargo, today signed an agreement to integrate their systems before Japan Customs’ newly enacted Advance Filing Rules go into effect in March 2014.
The Advance Filing Rules require vessel operators and non-vessel-operating common carriers to submit information electronically to Japan Customs for maritime container cargoes on vessels entering Japanese ports. Carriers and NVOCCs are responsible for submitting the filings electronically through service providers authorized by NACCS Center no later than 24 hours before the departure of the vessel.
Descartes Systems Group has also signed a similar agreement with NACCS Center.
