SHELTON, Conn., and RALEIGH, N.C. — 3Gtms, a developer of a best-of-breed suite of transportation management systems (TMS) products, and Tompkins International, a globally recognized leader in supply chain consulting and services, are partnering to deliver TMS solutions that meet the expanding needs of mid-market companies today.

“It’s clearly important for our clients to lower their transportation spend while improving their customer service,” said Gene Tyndall, executive vice president of Tompkins International. “Overall, logistics cost as a percentage of sales can be more than 10 percent and as high as 25 percent for international logistics, with transportation accounting for more than fifty percent of total logistics costs.1

The partnership will combine the award-winning 3Gtms transportation management software solution with the extensive supply chain consulting and implementation expertise that Tompkins International has cultivated by working with global clients for more than 35 years.

“3Gtms is creating transportation solutions that are at the top of the market,” added Tyndall.

Adoption of TMS usage today is less than forty percent with current solutions using decade-old technology that simply cannot handle today’s transportation management needs. This partnership provides clients with user-friendly TMS products that are tightly integrated into supply chains and ERP.

Mitch Weseley, CEO of 3Gtms noted, “We wanted to partner with Tompkins because of their quality supply chain expertise particularly across retail and consumer packaged goods. Companies in both of these industries can derive huge benefits from integrating a new generation TMS into a well-run supply chain practice.”
