Yusen Logistics (Taiwan) Ltd. Qualifies as an AEO

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Yusen Logistics (Taiwan) Ltd. (President: Kiyoshi Sogawa; hereinafter “YL-TW”) was certified by the Directorate-General of Customs, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of China as an Authorized Economic Operator under the AEO system as of November 30, 2012.

The ceremony at which the certificate was issued was held at the head office of YL-TW in Taipei on December 20, 2012. At the ceremony, the certificate was presented to Kiyoshi Sogawa, President of YL-TW by the Directorate-General of Customs, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of China.

YL-TW was granted AEO status in the three areas of freight forwarder, customs broker and warehouse operator. With this certification, some exemptions to customs procedures will be applied by customs to YL-TW as a logistics service provider that complies with laws and regulations and manages cargo appropriately. Taiwan is also promoting AEO mutual recognition arrangements with Singapore, which is a major trading partner of Taiwan. YL-TW applied for inspection by Singapore customs simultaneously with its AEO application in Taiwan and received a positive evaluation, confirming that it satisfied the requirements for an AEO under the AEO system in Singapore.
