Yusen Logistics has been recognized for the support it provided in the aftermath of the devastating Nepal earthquake, striking in April earlier this year. Commended for its transportation of vital resources to the Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) Medical Team, Yusen Logistics was presented the award at Camp Yokohama on June 6 by the Central Transportation Management Command (CTMC), the Japan Ground Self Defense Force (JGSDF).

The JGSDF carried out JDR activities in the wake of the earthquake until May, when the activities concluded. Resources including medical equipment and medicinal supplies were then required to be sent back to Japan. As part of Yusen Logistics’ logistical support for the JDR Medical Team, the company completed the transportation of the resources back from Nepal to Japan.

During the ceremony, which took place as part of a memorial event held simultaneously for the 33rd anniversary of the founding of the CTMC, the JGSDF, and the 59th anniversary of the establishment of Camp Yokohama, the corporation was thanked especially for its swift and punctual services, securely delivering the resources while working amidst the chaos and time restrictions of the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Yusen Logistics was pleased to be able to provide support to the relief efforts in Nepal, and will continue to contribute to the international community wherever it can through its logistics services.
