20 November 2013 – Leading supply chain firm YCH Group is the latest Singaporean company doing its part to alleviate the sufferings of Typhoon Haiyan’s victims in Tacloban, Philippines. As part of a public donation call, YCH Singapore has invited its staff to donate food items, drinks and clothing. Donations are being sent to Cairnhill Community Centre, the central collection point for items from other donating parties. YCH Singapore will provide its logistics services and ship all items to Cebu.
Ms Janet Yap, General Manager of Global Forwarding, YCH Group, said, “Ever since the disaster struck, Tacloban has been having extreme difficulties in standing back on its foot. Apart from suffering damages of at least SGD 8.1 billion, many isolated areas are still being completely cut off despite constant influx of international aid. Humanity must help." She adds, “With our numerous supply chain routes in Asia, we are looking at the possibility of enlisting these resources to pad up our aid efforts to the Philippines.”
Apart from the headquarters here in Singapore, YCH Hong Kong will also be offering cash assistance to purchase more necessary items for the affected city.
