UPS is upgrading its global ocean and air freight forwarding product, UPS Supplier Management, with the introduction of UPS Order Watch, a cloud-based technology platform that is intended to enable customers to better collaborate with international supplies and manage inbound supply chains.
Scalable cloud-based supply chain management technologies allow companies to streamline management of vendors and manage all of their inbound shipments via a single platform, which can consolidate ocean freight shipments and improve container usage for cost savings, said Tom Boike, the company's vice president of supplier management.
UPS Order Watch is now available to current customers, and it will be available to new customers starting in early 2013.
