UPS will provide $1.5 million in cash and in-kind transportation and logistics support for Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts, the company said Friday.
The largest U.S. transportation company pledged $1 million in cash and support to a variety of relief organizations throughout 2013 to aid long-term recovery efforts.
In addition, UPS will give $250,000 to The American Red Cross to help shelter the victims of Sandy, and $250,000 in logistical aid for urgent response.
Earlier this week, express package rival FedEx pledged $1.2 million in Hurricane Sandy relief, both in cash and in-kind transportation and logistics support.
FedEx will provide money and logistical support to the American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, Heart to Heart International and Direct Relief International.
