Barranquilla Container Terminal to Use Tideworks System

Barranquilla Container Terminal, a joint venture between SSA International and Sociedad Portuaria del Norte, located in the Port of Barranquilla, Colombia, has chosen Tideworks Technology’s terminal operating system to manage its operations.

The new terminal will be managed by Santa Marta International Terminal Co. It will initially have capacity for about 122,000 20-foot-equivalent units annually, with plans to expand the container yard to five hectares (about 12.4 acres) and increase capacity to 190,000 TEUs during a second phase of development.

The facility will deploy Tideworks’ Mainsail Terminal Management System, Forecast by Tideworks and Spinnaker Planning Management System to manage container operations. The terminal operating system is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2013.
