Norbert Dentressangle reported its net income in 2012 was €74.7 million (about US$97.8 million), jumping 18 percent year-over-year from $82.9 million.
Consolidated turnover rose by 8.5 percent from $4.7 billion in 2011 to $5.1 billion in 2012, driven by gains in the logistics segment, continuous development of freight forwarding and resilience of the transport division, the France-based company said.
The logistics division generated more than $2.3 billion in turnover in 2012, supported by results in the U.K., Italy and the Netherlands, particularly in the last quarter, and the acquisition of Nova Natie’s logistics and freight forwarding activities. The transport division’s annual turnover was $2.7 billion. The freight forwarding segment’s turnover jumped from $112.7 million in 2011 to $187.4 million in 2012.
Norbert Dentressangle continued to internationalize its activities in 2012, generating 59 percent of its turnover outside of France.
“The Norbert Dentressangle teams turned in a solid financial performance in 2012,” said Herve Montjotin, CEO, in a release. “Despite a worsening and volatile economic environment, we continued to gain market share in our three divisions.”
Norbert Dentressangle does not anticipate any significant downturn in business in 2013.
