TOKYO—MOL Logistics (Japan) Co., Ltd. (President: Tetsuya Minato) today announced that its subsidiary in Thailand, MOL Logistics (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (Managing Director: Tatsuya Ueki) has earned certification as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) from the Customs Department of Thailand.

Within the MOL Logistics Group in Japan, the headquarters was certified as an AEO forwarder for international transportation, and its subsidiary M.O. Air Logistics, Inc. as an Authorized Warehouse Operator. Overseas, MOL Logistics (Netherlands) B.V. was already certified as a Full AEO (freight forwarder, customs broker, warehouse operator), and MOL Logistics (Thailand) is the second overseas group company to acquire AEO certification, following MOL Logistics (Netherlands). A subsidiary in the U.S. acquired C-TPAT certification under a system similar to the AEO program.

MOL Logistics (Thailand) expects the AEO certification to speed up customs clearance for cargoes exported from Thailand and streamline customs procedures such as document examination and inspections, through mutual approval of the Customs Department of Thailand and the customs department of the importing nation.

In addition, MOL Group company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (Thailand) Co., Ltd. [MOL (Thailand)] has already earned the same AEO certification as MOL Logistics (Thailand). The company will meet a broad range of customer needs while sharing MOL (Thailand) facilities and services.

The MOL Logistics Group continually provides thorough security management in global logistics, refines its compliance system, strives to offer an ever-higher quality of services, and helps customers enhance their supply chain operations with safe, reliable logistics services.
