Kintetsu World Express Sets Up Mexican Subsidiary

Major Japanese international freight forwarder Kintetsu World Express Inc. said that it has established a subsidiary in Mexico to cope with anticipated growth in demand for transportation services there.

Kintetsu World Express Mexico, S.A. de C.V. is based in Mexico City and has sales offices in the cities of Guadalajara and Leon. The Mexican subsidiary formally opened for business on Jan. 1, KWE said.

The Tokyo-based company has previously been engaged in marketing activities in Mexico through a representative office in Mexico City.

KWE said that it can expect growth in demand for transportation services in the Latin American country, especially from many U.S. and Japanese automakers and electronics manufacturers operating there.

Through the new subsidiary, KWE will further expand its logistics services between Mexico and the rest of the world, including Japan and other Asian countries, Europe and North America, the company said.
