Kühne Foundation, University Team Up to Establish Logistic Education Center

The Kühne Foundation has linked up with a Singapore university to establish a new humanitarian logistics education center, the first of its kind in the region.

The center will be run as part of the Logistics Institute - Asia Pacific, at the National University of Singapore.

The Switzerland-based Kühne Foundation said the center would foster collaboration between regional academics, government agencies, universities, students and the commercial sector through its standard and advanced Supply Chain Management courses and research.

“We cannot undervalue the importance of efficient logistics management in the humanitarian context,” said Mr. Sean Rafter, Director, Save the Children International.

“Increasing numbers of people are affected by disaster in Asia every year and we need to find a way to spread the knowledge and skills of the humanitarian and logistics sectors to our own staff and a growing range of partners that want to play a role in responding,” he said.
