DHL Global Forwarding Opens Office in Libya

Air and ocean freight company DHL Global Forwarding, part of Deutsche Post DHL, has opened its first office in Tripoli, Libya, to capitalize on the country’s growing oil and hydrocarbon production industry.

DHL will offer customers — primarily in oil and energy, construction, telecommunications and pharmaceuticals — services such as documentation handling, customs clearance and warehousing, international freight, and domestic and cross-border trucking.

“Libya is opening up to investors from all over the world to help develop the oil rich country,” said Thomas Nieszner, DHL’s CEO of Europe, Middle East and Africa. “The country’s post-revolution oil recovery has advanced faster than expected.”
