Johannesburg-based Barloworld Logistics’ Dedicated Transport Services division has concluded its merger with the Manline group, a logistics provider in Southern Africa.
The merged business, called Barloworld Transport Solutions, has become a 50.1 percent-held subsidiary of Barloworld Logistics. The transaction involved the disposal of DTS together with a cash contribution, in exchange for shares in Manline. The Manline, Manline Energy and Timber24 brands will be retained within the Barloworld Transport Solutions group of companies.
Barloworld Transport Solutions will be led by Neil Henderson, current CEO of Manline.
The company can now offer dedicated, general freight, cross-border, hazardous goods, timber and other specialized services across sub-Saharan Africa, said Steve Ford, CEO of Barloworld Logistics, in a written statement.
