Mumbai, India-based Allcargo Logistics reported profit after tax in the third quarter of fiscal year 2013, ending Dec. 31, 2012, was Rs. 36.1 crore (about US$6.7 million), falling 29 percent from $9.4 million in the third quarter of fiscal year 2012.
Quarterly revenue dropped 4 percent year-over-year to $181.9 million.
For the first nine months of fiscal year 2013, profit after tax was $28.4 million, down 12 percent year-over-year, and revenue was $559.3 million, up 11 percent.
The container freight stations and inland container depot operations segment handled 48,561 20-foot-equivalent units in the third quarter, dropping 23 percent, compared with 63,290 TEUs handled in the same quarter in the previous year. For the first nine months of fiscal year 2013, the company’s container freight station operations handled 4.4 million TEUs and the inland container depot operations at Dadri and Pithampur in India moved 88,000 TEUs.
The multimodal transport operations segment moved 70,338 TEUs in the fourth quarter, rising 3 percent from 68,503 TEUs in the fourth quarter in the previous year.
