INland Logistics Port in Kingsbury is Indiana’s first location to receive CSX Corporation’s Select Site designation.
Partnering with the consulting firm The Austin Company, CSX’s Select Sites program reviews manufacturing and distribution development sites to help companies find industrial properties in the eastern U.S. that are shovel-ready for freight rail service.
To receive the designation, the location must meet criteria including infrastructure and utility availability, environmental reviews, appropriate zoning and entitlement, air quality permitting, rail serviceability, proximity to highways or interstates and other attributes.
CSX has already identified five other Select Site locations in Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky and South Carolina.
