Descartes Systems Group’s profit fell 3.8 percent year-over-year in its second fiscal quarter ended July 31, even as its revenue increased 6 percent.
The Ontario-based logistics provider earned a profit of $2.5 million in the second quarter, down from $2.6 million in the second quarter of 2011 and the first quarter this year.
It posted revenue of $30.5 million, up from $28.8 million in the second quarter of last year, and 2 percent higher than $29.9 million in the first quarter this year.
Descartes reported adjusted earnings before taxes and depreciation of $9.3 million for its second quarter, up 12 percent from $8.3 million a year earlier and up 7 percent from $8.7 million in the first quarter.
During the quarter, Descartes completed the acquisition of logistics software provider Integrated Export Systems for $35 million.
