CEVA Logistics is boosting its footprint in the Midwest to speed delivery by up to four days by better connecting its ocean services to its surface network.
The Netherlands-based company said it has enhanced its less-than-container load service by bringing inbound consolidation loads into its container freight station in Elk Grove Village, Ill. The loads are then shipped through to 10 Midwest locations via CEVA Roadfreight operations, a change that more than doubles service frequency.
The inbound containers are shipped to Illinois from various Asian locations, but the company plans to bring shipments from European and additional Asian sites by the end of the year. The non-asset-based supply chain management company saw profit fall 13.6 percent in the second quarter despite a 5.5 percent bump in revenue.
