Panalpina said its new logistics center in Moscow will target shippers of high tech, automotive, high-end fashion and telecoms cargoes across Russia.
The 19,685-square-foot facility, situated on the outskirts of the Russian capital and within a 28 miles radius of three major airports, offers almost 8,000 pallet locations and has 15 inbound and outbound docks. The Swiss logistics group said the new facility is also suitable for healthcare, consumer and retail and manufacturing sectors seeking security and value added services.
“Our logistics center is right on the main inbound route from Europe to Moscow,” said Stefan Karlen, area manager for Black and Caspian Sea.
Panalpina said the new center will enable it to offer end-to-end supply chain services inbound into Russia, including international multimodal transport, customs brokerage, local transportation, storage and distribution.
“We can even provide armed security guards for the distribution of high-value cargo within Russia,” said Cyrill Gaechter, area head of marketing at Panalpina.
