Kuehne+Nagel Launches Singapore Aerospace Logistics Hub

Kuehne+Nagel has launched a new customized spare parts logistics hub “solution” for the aerospace industry in Singapore.

The new hub, located in the logistics park in Singapore Airport’s Free Trade Zone, is exclusively dedicated to the Swiss global logistics and freight forwarding group’s global and regional customers.

The Singapore hub “enables us, besides good transit times and effective transport cost, to have our parts being handled by aerospace professionals,” said Burkhard Andrich, Senior Vice President Aircraft Component Services at Lufthansa Technik.

“Aerospace parts are usually small and of low weight but of high product value. Therefore it is risky to have them stored together with other goods.”

Kuehne+Nagel plans to roll out the hub solution, part of its Supply the Sky service portfolio, globally, according to Senior Vice President Aerospace Erik Goedhart.
