As from January 1, the Port of Rotterdam Authority has named Geert Visser, Consul of the Netherlands and President of Global Marine Transport, Rotterdam Representative for the USA. Geert Visser is based in Houston, USA.
Geert Visser has more than 30 years of senior and executive-level experience in international business and maritime transport. He has an extensive network in the offshore chemicals, oil, container and breakbulk businesses. Visser succeeds Robert E. Kennedy who, as of 1 January 2010 retired as a Representative for Port of Rotterdam after seven years. The Chicago office has been closed.

The primary task of the Representatives is to collect commer¬cial information, trace potential customers and establish initial contacts with the Rotterdam business world.
