FreightCar America Announces Commercial Restructuring

Chicago, Illinois, March 26, 2012 – FreightCar America, Inc. (NASDAQ: RAIL) announced today that it has named three individuals to manage its newly restructured commercial organization to more directly present the full range of FreightCar America and FreightCar Rail Services products to its customers. Sean Hankinson, Michael MacMahon, and Kevin Knarr will have management responsibility covering North American sales, marketing and customer service, respectively.

Theodore Baun, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales, said, “We have streamlined our overall commercial organization to enhance the presentation of both our manufacturing and railcar services capabilities to our customers.”

Hankinson, who has been with FreightCar America for twenty years in various manufacturing and sales capacities, has been promoted to Vice President, North American Sales, with responsibility over railcar, parts and services sales across North America. He will be moving from Johnstown, PA to FreightCar America’s Chicago headquarters.

MacMahon, with seven years in finance, marketing, and business development roles at the Company, will now serve as Vice President, Marketing and Sales Administration. He will lead marketing activities in support of all FreightCar America and FreightCar Rail Services products and services and will manage cost estimating, pricing and proposal and order administration for FreightCar America. Additionally, he will continue to lead specific business development activities. MacMahon will also be relocating to FreightCar America’s Chicago offices.

Knarr, with thirteen years experience in FreightCar America’s customer service area, has assumed the role of Vice President, Customer Service, leading all post-sale customer relations, lease fleet management functions and parts sales administration activity. He will continue to be located at the Johnstown, PA office.
