TPM 2013 is upon us! It will be another record-breaking event, with some 2,000 attendees expected for what has become a must-attend annual briefing and networking gathering for the trans-Pacific and, increasingly, global container shipping community. As in past years, there are no shortage of major challenges the industry confronts as TPM 2013 opens: Longshore labor is again a major risk factor; rates are as volatile as ever and demand new approaches; carriers are withdrawing from chassis with no new model firmly established; and reefer rates are increasing. All these topics and many others will be covered by a top-notch lineup of speakers in panels that have been meeting regularly in preparation for the conference. Our objective at the JOC is for attendees to come away with a firm handle on how 2013 is shaping up and with a refreshed Rolodex packed with opportunity for the year ahead.
