U.S. diesel prices remained flat in the week ending Feb. 25, after five straight weeks of increases.

For a larger version of the chart, click on the image.The average price, $4.159, is up 0.05 percent or $0.002 from the previous week. This is 2.7 percent higher than the price of $4.051 in the same week a year ago. The price of diesel remains above $4 per gallon in all regions of the country.
This is the first break in a five-week surge in prices that saw a $0.26 or 6.75 percent increase in diesel prices from the third to the eighth week of 2013, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Prices in the West Coast less California region showed the biggest drop, falling $0.015 from last week’s level. The Midwest, lower Atlantic, and West Coast had minute drops as well. The other regions experienced similarly small increases.
