The average price of diesel in the U.S. was $4.010 during the week that ended Nov. 5, falling 0.5 percent or $.02 from the previous week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
The price was $.12 or 3.2 percent higher than a year ago. The price was down in all regions of the country except for New England and the Central Atlantic, where it was up slightly. The largest decline was seen in California, where prices retreated 4.3 cents, and in the Rocky Mountains region, where thee average price fell 3.5 cents.
