Seasonally adjusted industrial production in the 17 countries of the euro area inched up 0.6 percent in August, following a 0.6 percent increase in July, Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, reported. The 27 member states of the European Union saw growth of 0.3 percent growth following a 1 percent increase in July.
Year-over-year, industrial production dropped 2.9 percent in August in the euro area, and declined 1.8 percent in the European Union.
