The Eno Transportation Foundation appointed Joshua L. Schank president and chief executive officer and promoted Barbara Gannon to executive vice president.
The foundation, established in 1921 by William Phelps Eno to promote the safe and efficient mobility of American society, is a 501(c)(3) organization focused on improving transportation and its public and private leadership.
Schank will succeed Stephen Van Beek Feb. 21. He currently directs the National Transportation Policy Project at the Bipartisan Policy Center in Washington, D.C.
A former Transportation Policy Advisor to Senator Hillary Clinton, Schank has also worked as a consultant with PB Consult and senior associate at ICF International, as well as serving in positions at the U. S. Department of Transportation and with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in New York City. He co-authored "All Roads Lead to Congress: The $300 Billion Fight Over Highway Funding," with Costas Panagopoulos.
"Joshua's experience in policy formation and research, combined with Barbara's reputation in transportation practitioner education, will enable us to further our program initiatives and engage more with private sector transportation providers," Lillian Borrone, chairman of the foundation's board of directors, said.
Barbara Gannon, interim president of the foundation, will move up to the newly-created position of executive vice president as she continues to hold the title of executive director of the center for transportation leadership.
