Dachser Opens in Romania

Logistics provider Dachser launched Oct. 1 a national presence in Romania with three branch offices in the cities of Arad, Brasov and Bucharest.

The subsidiary, Dachser Romania S.R.L., offers transport logistics services to Romanian and international customers from industry and retail with daily services linking the branch offices to Dachser’s European freight network. The country manager and manager of the Bucharest branch will be Traian Dumitrescu, who has nine years of experience in the Romanian market.

Dachser has established subsidiaries in four other countries between the Baltic and the Adriatic: Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.

"The speedy introduction of our harmonized European logistics standard in Romania will in future enable us to offer our customers access to a market that is rich in potential," said Michael Schilling, managing director of Dachser European Logistics.

Dachser is a $5.3 billion logistics provider which handled 29.1 million metric tons of freight world wide in 2008.
