DOT Chief LaHood Won't Serve Second Term

Department of Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said he won’t stay on the job for another term, nor will he run for public office, according to the Chicago Tribune.

LaHood told the Chicago Tribune he expects there will “wonderful opportunities” in the private sector when he leaves office.. His current DOT term ends at the start of the next presidential term in January 2013.

The DOT chief made the comments at the National Press Club, where LaHood said he expects Congress to pass an “infrastructure program” by the end of the calendar year.
