Spot prices for low sulfur bunker fuel edged down in the week ending Sept. 6, but held on to most of the prior week’s $9 per metric ton increase, according to daily BunkerVision price data via international marine fuel oil broker LQM Petroleum Services. Low sulfur bunker fuel has not seen prices at this level since the week of May 10.

U.S. retail and food service sales increased for a fourth straight month in July 2013, inching up 0.2 percent from June to $424.5 billion, according to the latest seasonally adjusted retail report from the Census Bureau. This was down from June's monthly 0.6 percent increase, which had been the third consecutive increase at an accelerated rate.
