CSX Intermodal Selects Tideworks Technology for Terminal Operating System

The Journal of Commerce Online - Press Release

SEATTLE-- Tideworks Technology, a leading provider of full-service terminal management and planning software solutions, today announced CSX Intermodal (CSXI) has selected Tideworks' comprehensive terminal operating system (TOS) for its operations at Evansville Western Railway's new state-of-the-art Northwest Ohio Terminal (NWOH) targeted to open in late 2010.

The new NWOH terminal will provide customers with an efficient and valuable transfer point through the use of "wide-span" crane technology and a high degree of automation. Tideworks' TOS will enable the operator to increase automation and productivity.

"We selected Tideworks' TOS because it is a proven, reliable system with a robust and centralized infrastructure. Given the importance of this project, we wanted a supplier who possessed the technical expertise and support experience necessary to ensure a smooth system implementation," said Wilby Whitt, vice president at CSXI.

In addition to deployment of Tideworks' TOS, Tideworks' industry-leading Automated Gate System (AGS) solution, GateVision ® with OCR, will be used at NWOH. The complete solution will encompass many different aspects of the terminal operations process, including container and railcar inventory, container stacking, control of container movements and coordination of activities to and from trucks.

"CSX Intermodal is among the nation's leading transportation companies, and we are excited to lend our integration expertise for this project," said Michael Schwank, president of Tideworks Technology. "Tideworks' TOS will enable CSXI to not only automate important business processes, but it will also provide the comprehensive support needed to continue to service all CSXI customers efficiently and with industry-leading technology systems."
