MSC to Launch West Coast-Australia Service

Trans-Pacific service, starting Dec. 29, will also call on New Zealand

Mediterranean Shipping Co. will begin direct service from Oakland and Long Beach to Australia and New Zealand, starting later this month.

MSC will operate seven vessels with an average capacity of 2,596 20-foot equivalent units in the Trans-Pacific service, which is also known as Oceania Express Loop 1.

The port rotation will be: Oakland, Long Beach, Auckland, Melbourne, Syndey, Tauranga and Oakland. The service begins calling on Oakland on Dec. 29 and Long Beach on Jan. 1.
