CMA CGM, MSC Relaunch North-South Americas Loop

Aimed to accomodate growing market for South American reefer cargo

CMA CGM is relaunching its Black Pearl service between the U.S. East Coast and the west coast of South America as part of the worldwide consolidation of its services with Mediterranean Shipping Co. on key routes the two carriers announced on Dec. 1.

Starting in mid-January, MSC will operate eight vessels with capacities of 4,000 20-foot equivalent units on the revised service.

CMA CGM said the weekly service is being revised to accommodate growing market demand for refrigerated cargoes from Chile and Peru to Philadelphia and New York.

The port rotation of the revised service will be: Philadelphia, New York, Charleston, Savannah, Jacksonville, Freeport, Port Everglades, Cristobal, Balboa, Callao, Arica, Coronel, Valparaiso, Balboa, Cristobal, Freeport, Philadelphia and New York.
