WORKERS FROM TWO RIVAL CHARITY GROUPS in Bangkok, Thailand, fought with fists, knives and clubs over who arrived first to collect a corpse, victim of an accident, from a city street earlier this week. The charities, mostly financed by Bangkok's Chinese community, have been competing to haul in the most bodies to hospitals and thus boost their community standing, according to the police. In this case charity should not only begin at home but stay there as well.
