Bill Smith & Richard Palma to Lead Globe Express Services’ U.S. and Latin America Sales Efforts

Charlotte, NC – May 12, 2011: Globe Express Services ® (Overseas Group), a leading global third-party logistics (3PL) provider, is pleased to announce the promotion of Bill Smith to Vice President Sales & Marketing (USA) and the appointment of Richard Palma to Vice President Sales & Development, Latin America. “We have great confidence in Bill’s and Richard’s ability to lead our sales efforts and to deliver positive results for the U.S. and Latin American markets,” commented Tony G. Bill Smith, who will soon mark 15 years with GES, first joined the company as a Sales Representative. After working in various positions of increasing responsibility across several departments, Smith most recently lead the company’s Marketing and Supply Chain Services effort, playing a key role in both building the GES brand and in consistently securing new business. Smith is well known throughout the global logistics industry, regularly representing GES as an expert guest speaker at numerous events and contributing supply chain-related articles and commentary to various trade publications.

Richard Palma brings over 15 years of experience in multi-cultural sales, business development and operational leadership, earned while working in senior management roles with several top ten, global third party logistics (3PL) providers. Palma’s experience includes a breadth of accomplishments in trade lane, channel/vertical development and related sales management in all major global logistics disciplines (ocean, air, intermodal, 4PL, etc.). In addition, he has worked for several major shippers, where he honed his skills in supply chain, distribution and inventory management. Palma, who speaks Spanish and Portuguese, also has deep global business experience with an inter-Americas focus, including Mexico, the Caribbean, and nearly all of Central and South America.

Bill Smith provides insight into the company’s direction in saying, “Globe Express is a great mid-market company.
