ANA's International Cargo Volume Soars 14 Percent

Japan’s All Nippon Airways said its international cargo volume grew for the seventh consecutive month in August on a year-over-year basis, soaring 14 percent to 43,459 tons. The year-over-year pace of growth was significantly faster than 2.7 percent in July.

The volume of cargo ANA carried on its international routes in the first five months of fiscal 2012, which started on April 1, totaled 218,091 tons, up 5.2 percent from a year earlier.

ANA’s domestic cargo volume fell for the third straight month in August on a year-over-year basis, edging down 0.4 percent to 39,752 tons. The year-over-year pace of decline was much slower than 6.0 percent in June and 5.0 percent in July.

The carrier’s domestic cargo volume in the first five months of the current fiscal year amounted to 191,182 tons, down 1.8 percent from a year earlier.
